In August 1980 he was discharged from compulsory service and joined his kibbutz, Carmia. In the summer of 1984 he was called up for reserve duty During his service he conducted an exercise combined with a helicopter squadron. During the exercise, on August 27, 1984, one of the helicopters that participated in the exercise crashed, and Yitzhak was wounded in the death of a 28-year-old man who was laid to rest in the cemetery in Karmiya, left behind a wife, a mother and brother. A member of his kibbutz: “It’s very difficult to eulogize Yitzhak, it’s just too early. Isaac was still unable to form his personality and her fate. Is still in the planning stage. Still wondering about his location on the kibbutz. Still pondering the existential questions of man and society. It seems that only on one subject has he decided long ago. Isaac wanted to become a man of work. Work as the center of man’s being. His loyalty to his work, his branch, and his team were already clear, clear and powerful. Isaac sought the path to perfection. Man and society, creation, culture and politics, everything had to be summed up in one way, and this honest search stopped in the bud “
