Travolus, Hezekiah
Son of Esther and Jacob, was born on January 18, 1937 in Turkey. In his country of origin, Hezekiah managed to serve in the army before immigrating to Israel. He immigrated to Israel in 1960, and about three years later served as a reserve soldier in a regiment. In August 1980, Hezekiah was called to active reserve duty. During his service, on the 20th of Elul 5740 (1.9.1980), he died of cerebral hemorrhage, and he was buried at the military cemetery in Rehovot, where he left behind a wife, son and two daughters. To his family: “Your loved one was a dedicated and loyal soldier, who performed his role in an exemplary manner, while showing a desire to help others while giving up personal comfort.”
