Toyg, Rachamim
Son of Fethiye and Mazal. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, on 8 November 1934. He completed his studies in an elementary school in his city and immigrated to Israel in 1950. Upon his arrival in Israel, he joined the youth group in Revivim, where he learned the language and the life of the kibbutz, He was forced to leave because he was called to help his family, who lived in a village near Safed, where he moved to Moshav Margaliot in the mountains of Naftali, where he devoted himself to work and served as a tractor operator. In the army Rahamim went out to the Paratroopers Brigade in May 1954. He was a beloved friend and a dedicated soldier with a good and cheerful spirit. On the 6th of Adar 5705 (February 28, 1955) he fell with his seven comrades-in-arms in a battle with the enemy in the vicinity of Gaza and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
