Touboul, Shlomo

Son of Masoud and Camara. He was born on June 19, 1942 in the city of Oujda, Morocco. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949 and Shlomo was the age of seven. He soon adapted to the conditions of the country. He studied and completed his studies at the Aloni Yitzhak Institute, and during his leisure time devoted himself to sports. There was always a good spirit in him. Later, when he felt that his parents needed his help, he returned to them and to his home. He was drafted into the IDF in November 1959 for the Armored Corps, which he and his commanders loved with all his heart, and despite his injuries, he returned to being a soldier. He was killed during armored battles in the Armored Corps in the Jabel-Livni area in Sinai on the second day of the fighting, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), and was buried at the military emergency cemetery in Bari. He was sent to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, after which the commander of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family that their son had sacrificed his life for a secure nation. His name was immortalized in the booklet “The Centurions”.
