Tonclerot, Joshua


Son of Avraham and Bracha. He was born on October 18, 1940 in Minsk, Russia. During the Second World War the father was drafted into the army and the conditions of existence of the family, which were supported by the mother, were unbearable. At the end of the war the family moved to Poland, from there to Germany, and in 1949 immigrated to Israel and settled in the Arab village of Sheik-Munis. He completed his studies at the Municipal High School. He was thirsty for knowledge and was quick to understand and especially to learn Arabic. When he completed his high school studies, he began studying at the military boarding school in Haifa, and on the day of his enlistment he went to the IDF together with the rest of his friends.
