Toledano, Yosef


Yosef, son of Avraham and Joiya (Yehudit) Toedano, was born on September 10, 1911 in Jerusalem. He graduated from elementary school, was a tailor by profession, and supported his large family. Yosef was a devoted member of the Haganah. He dreamed all his life about the liberation of the homeland and was prepared to sacrifice his life for it’s defense. Yosef then joined the IDF and served in Ramle and Lod. He became ill and as a result, he was hospitalized for several months and died on the 15thof Adar, March 16, 1949 and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak, leaving behind a wife and six children.
