Toledano, Habib Raphael

Son of Juliet and Rafael. He was born on the 28th of Kislev 5729 (28.1.1969) in Lod and he was an orphan from a father, and before he was born, his father was killed in a road accident, and at the age of five the family moved to Ashdod, where he studied at the “Shikmim” Neve Herzog, “his mentor at the Neveh Herzog High School was one of the diligent students who always aspires to success, is very careful about his personal appearance, is willing to contribute to the success of the social action and is willing to help his fellow students. He was an ambitious student who excelled in his studies and in all his fields of activity He was a young boy full of joy and energy, who enjoyed much of his energy in sports and folk dancing, activities in which he gained great social esteem, he was especially successful in the tennis game, participated in many competitions and even won his tennis championship in the city. He first wanted to serve in the hesder yeshivas, but later changed his mind and preferred to serve regular service. He was assigned to an IAF Intelligence Unit and later transferred to another unit in the IAF. Habib fell during his service on 15 Kislev 5748 (6 December 1987) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Ashdod. Survived by his mother, brother Asher and two sisters Rachel and Sima. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote that despite his brief time in the unit, his commanders and colleagues were impressed by his good character and his desire to carry out his task with precision. The family wished to commemorate him by means of a library of tapes of Divrei Torah or by donating Menorah to the synagogue
