Tobiyahu, Shimon
Son of Aristotle and Sarah. He was born in the city of Kashan in Iran in 1993. After Shimon graduated from elementary school in Iran, Shimon immigrated to Eretz Israel in “Aliyat Hanoar” in 1951. He continued his studies in the kibbutz Kfar Menachem and later in Reshef. After his discharge from the army, he returned to Kibbutz Reshefim, to which he belonged when he was in the youth company, but his problems made it difficult for him to continue the life of the farm. He then went on to teach in the sports field in an immigrant town Kiryat Shmona, where he established his family and was employed at the Workers’ Council of the Culture Committee Hebrew Language Council. Did not spare his time and health to bring adults to school and make them know how to read and write Hebrew. Was a member of the “young guard” and Hapoel. “His public must also note his service as secretary of the Young Guard of Mapai and membership in the center of the Association of Persia. The purpose of his life was the existence of the State of Israel at all costs and the union of its workers. Shimon fulfilled his teachings with his body and soul, in practice. Behaved with integrity, bore responsibility and was faithful to the tasks that were imposed on him and knew only the fulfillment of obligations. From time to time he would go to reserve duty and in the Six-Day War he was in this framework and in the battle that took place in Tel-Abu-Nasir on the second day of the battles, he was on the 6th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967). left a wife and three children, the youngest of whom was about eight months old when his father fell. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. In Kiryat Shmona a young guard was established in his honor. His colleagues and acquaintances published a booklet called “Beit Ha-Histadrut”, in which his memory was raised.
