Tobiansky, Meir (Misha) (Toby, Kit, Yuval)
Son of Vera and Yaakov. Born in the town of Kaunas, Lithuania, in the Russian city of Kaunas, Poland, 1925 he immigrated to Israel as pioneers, and when he arrived he worked for two years in every physical work he encountered. In 1926 he studied at the Police Academy in Jerusalem, and when police were required to attend the Old City during the Nabi Musa celebrations, he was the first to volunteer. At the end of June 1948, he swore his officers and soldiers to the IDF that day he went to Tel Aviv to buy groceries. In the afternoon of that day, he was summoned to an urgent meeting and did not return. He was suspected of handing over information to the enemy for espionage purposes and was shot by a military court that was set up illegally on June 30, 1948 ). He was buried in Beit Jiz, one of the occupied villages on the way to Jerusalem. The suspicion was canceled after careful investigation a year later, and expressed regret over the tragic mistake by the Knesset and the defense minister. After his acquittal, he was awarded the rank of captain, and his body was then transferred with military honor to eternal rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem on June 21, 1951.
