Tishbi, Ofer-Yitzhak
Son of Alter and Chaya. He was born on the 14th of Tevet 5709 (15.1.1949) in Haifa. When he reached school age, he began his studies at the elementary school in Kiryat Eliezer. He was a diligent and well-organized student, and after completing his elementary studies, he studied at the “Sammat” vocational school, and was always busy and busy with his studies and the “Mahanot Ha’olim” movement to which he belonged. He also wanted to join the pilots’ course, but because his vision was insufficient for this service, he was transferred to a liaison course. Was disciplined and devoted and fulfilled every task assigned to him in the best possible way and was therefore loved by his commanders and comrades-in-arms. He wanted to finish his service and return to his warm and good home – and to his parents. But he was still in compulsory service – and on one day, on the 19th of Av 5728 (19.8.1968), he fell when the military commando he was traveling on was traveling on a dirt road during a routine observation tour south of Ein Yahav in the Arava . He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. The kindergarten, where he began his education, bears his name. The ceremony was dedicated to the dedication of “Hurshat Hashlosha” near Ein-Yahav in memory of three radio operators: Ofer Tishby, Gad Alexander Rosenthal and Ya’akov Reinzelber, who fell in the Arava while carrying out their duties.
