Tirie, Elisha

Elisha, son of Jacob and Sarah Tirie, was born in Haifa in 1941. He immigrated to Israel in 1940. When he was drafted into the IDF in May 1959, he belonged to the border police and was a guard during his regular service. During the Six-Day War, on the 27th day of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), the second day of his battles, he fell inside the camp as a result of an explosion of an enemy aircraft. He left a wife in her pregnancy. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
