Tibi, David
Son of Shalom and Ida. He was born on November 4, 1958 in Nahariya. As a child, the family moved to Moshav Yaara, where he studied at the Betzet elementary school and completed his studies at the Philadelphia High School in Bustan Hagalil. David was a son of the moshav, who loved the farm, took a walk in nature, photographed landscapes and rode horses, and as a strong boy David excelled as an athlete. David was drafted into the IDF and assigned to a Golani infantry unit. As part of his service he underwent a sabotage course. His friends in the unit tell him that he was a “type” of a ‘member’ who always leads the way. ” On April 22, 1978, following reports of terrorists in the area, a force from the company left for southern Lebanon. David, who was in an ambush, was wounded in the shooting. On 27 April 1978, David died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Nahariya, where he was left at the age of 20. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “David was wounded as a result From operational activity across the border in southern Lebanon. From the beginning of his service David was assigned to our unit as a fighter in an operational company. He was discovered as an excellent fighter and as a soldier who can be trusted in difficult moments. Blessed is the family that raised and educated such a son. The family lost a dear and beloved son, and the Golani family lost a great friend and fighter. “
