Two years later, his father died, and shortly afterward his mother also fell ill. Yigal and his brother, both teenagers, ran the household and looked after their mother. Due to the difficult situation, Yigal was late for school lessons and was reprimanded by teachers but he did not tell anyone about his mother’s illness.
