Tene, Michael

Ben Regina and Zvi. Michael (Micha) was born in Haifa on August 19, 1941. Was the only son of parents who lost their entire family during the Holocaust. At the age of fifteen, he was orphaned from a father, since he married his mother with the burden of the house. Despite the meager house, he received great care from the mother, and much affection and support from all those who knew him and his talent. Micha was a student at the Reali School in Haifa, and all the things he learned from Dr. Biram and the school teachers, especially the “Hatzofim” movement. He played in the Haifa Youth Orchestra, and with this orchestra he toured and participated in musical competitions in the USA and the Netherlands. In the army, Micha served in the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra and received a scholarship from the Sharett Foundation, and after his discharge from the army Micha began to study law, where he financed his studies in the Israel Broadcasting Authority Orchestra and in the Youth Orchestra of Jerusalem, But his mind continued to the music, and he returned to teach in the youth orchestra, with a lot of affection for the children and a great desire to impart knowledge and a way of life. In addition to training, Micha played in various orchestras alternately until he decided in 1979 to join the police orchestra. Difficult and strained days were for the orchestra and its musicians, but also a sense of joint action and contribution. Micha married a woman, lived in Jerusalem and in this city he had three daughters. He was full of pomegranate in wisdom and knew in almost every field, with extraordinary humor and remarkable wit. He was an educating and loving father to his daughters, and a devoted and loving husband to his wife. On the 3rd of Tevet 5755 (3 December 1994), a senior sergeant, Micha, fell in the cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving a woman and three daughters.
