Tayeb, Avner
Son of Pardgi and Ruth. He was born on the 12th of Av 5717 (12.8.1957) in Tunis. Immigrated to Israel with his family in 1961. Avner studied at the AD Gordon Elementary School and completed his studies at the Darski High School in Akko, with the aim of clerical work, and he was a talented and diligent student who loved the clerical profession. He was a member of a sports club in Haifa and took part in various sports activities, especially in table tennis and volleyball, was an enthusiastic fan of the Hapoel team, Akko. “He loved art and painted, and spent his free time traveling, watching movies and television programs, reading newspapers and books. A column of military service tried several times to be accepted for military service, and after the Yom Kippur War the road was opened and he applied to join the IDF forces. Avner was drafted into the IDF in December 1977 and was assigned to serve in the Nahariya city officer’s office as a clerk: “I was impressed by Avner’s strong desire to serve in the IDF and to contribute his part as a native, even though he did not have to enlist. In the early days he became very fond of us all and showed seriousness and dedication and a strong desire to be an active and efficient partner in our work. ” On January 17, 1978, Avner fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
