Tamaam, Gabriel


Son of Bachur and Nasriya. He was born on October 21, 1949 in Tripoli, Libya. At the end of November, the parents immigrated to Israel with him and he was about a month old at the time. He studied and completed his studies at the elementary school in Tel Mond. Afterward he studied at a vocational school near Kfar Vitkin and became a locksmith. His tendencies were athletic and he belonged to Hapoel in Tel Mond in a section of basketball and soccer. In February 1967 he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and in compulsory service he performed the orders of his commanders with efficiency and dedication until he fell in the positions of the Supreme Customs House over the Benot Ya’aqov Bridge on June 15, 1967, when a bunker of ammunition exploded. This was the continuation of the events of the Six-Day War. He was brought to eternal rest in a grave in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
