Tam, Joseph


Son of Shalom and Zahava. He was born on March 13, 1934 in Sanaa, Yemen. The family immigrated to Israel in 1943. He completed his studies at an elementary school in Petah Tikva and later studied at Tel Amal. He was a driver and a tractor operator by profession. He belonged to the Ha – Shomer ha – Tsa’ir youth movement. In August 1951, he was drafted into the IDF and fell in the Rafah area in Sinai during the 27th of March 1957. He was buried in the Military Emergency Cemetery in Bari and on 28 October 1957 he was transferred To rest for ever in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
