Talman, Meir-Zvi


Son of David and Nechama. He was born on September 24, 1931 in Jerusalem. Fifth generation in Israel. He studied at the “Talmud Torah” and “Yeshiva” schools, and later at the ORT vocational school. He worked in mechanical frameworks at the Electric Company in Jerusalem. He belonged to Bnei Akiva. From 1946 he was active in the Haganah and the Palmach, served as a guard for the Jewish Agency in Wadi Fukin, and was drafted into the IDF in June 1948. He completed an officers’ course and was a lieutenant colonel. He fell in battle around Mevo’ot Betar on the 2nd of Iyar 5713 (17.4.1953) and was brought to eternal rest in the Hasidim section of the Givat Shaul cemetery.
