Taler, Yeruham-Fishel
Son of Leah and Ezekiel. Born in 1897 in Tarnopol, Eastern Galicia, to a Hasidic family, he received a traditional Jewish education in Poland, where he was a member of “Poalei Agudat Israel” and in 1936 he settled in Haifa. In 1937 he joined the Hagana organization, and took risks throughout the years of bloody events. On the 18th of Tevet, Jan. 9th, 1939, while he was riding in his cart from Hadar Hacarmel towards the lower city, he was shot by an Arab on S Street Nettuno. He was buried in the mass grave in the new cemetery in Haifa. He was survived by his wife and four children.
