Tal, Rafi
Ben Shoshana and Eli Abutbul. He was born on February 20, 1976 in Kiryat Shmona, to Dani, Itzik and Eitan. Rafi began his elementary studies at the Metzudot school in his hometown, and after his family moved to Netanya, Rafi soon joined Ben-Gurion School. He completed his high school studies at ORT Yad Leibovitz School of Computer Science. At the beginning of August 1995, Rafi enlisted in the IDF and was trained as a personnel operator in the Paratroopers’ Brigade, and was described by his commanders as a professional and dedicated soldier with a high level of professionalism, who stood out in his modesty and was popular with his commanders and friends alike. 5 th of Tevet 5757 (15.12.1996). He was twenty years old when he fell. He was laid to rest at the Netanya military cemetery. He was promoted to sergeant after his death. Rafi left behind his parents and three brothers. In a condolence letter to the family, the unit commander wrote: “Rafi was one of the pillars of the communications company and dealt with important and complex systems. The family commemorated her son by purchasing a Torah scroll, which was placed in the Rashbi Synagogue in Netanya.
