Tal (Alush), Haim


Son of the fence (Bishi) and Galia. He was born on January 4, 1954 in Moshav Porat. He studied at the Schechterman Elementary School in Kfar Yavetz and continued his studies at the ORT vocational high school in Netanya, specializing in the profession of electrician generators and systems. He loved his profession and excelled in class and army. Chaim loved the country with all his Lev. When he was a member of the Gadna, he took part in organizing trips and social events, and he always excelled in the love of nature, the flora and the fauna, and always helped his father to work in his farm. Haim was drafted into the IDF in early August 1972 and assigned to the Navy. After basic training and after completing his course, he was sent to take a course in a naval electrician course in the submarine and completed the course with great success. After the course he was assigned to one of the navy units and began serving in his position. His commanders admired him as a soldier and as a man, they knew he could be assigned tasks and trusted to carry them out completely. With his friends in the unit, he established friendly and close relations and was acceptable to everyone. He progressed quickly and in May 1973 he was awarded the rank of corporal. In the Yom Kippur War, he acted loyally and without fatigue, days and nights, in places that were in great danger, and was saved from the war in peace. As an expression of appreciation for his work, he was awarded the rank of sergeant and given the ‘Yom Kippur War signal’. When he was drafted, he pledged to serve five years, three of them within the framework of the permanent army. Two months after he began his army service in April 1975, he was promoted to First Sergeant. During his years in the navy, he served in three different units, and in all of them his commanders were satisfied with him. Several times he was sent for professional training, both in Israel and abroad. After recommending his promotion, he was promoted in November to the rank of sergeant. Yes, he successfully completed a course in shallow water diving. In March 1977, he was sent to study in England, with some of his comrades in the unit. On the 12th of Adar 5737 (March 2, 1977) he fell while serving. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Tel Mond. Survived by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Haim volunteered for the submarine squadron immediately after his enlistment in the IDF, successfully completed the diving course, continued and completed a submarine electrician course and diving course, and served as a member of the” Dolphin ” I was very impressed with Haim – he performed excellent professional work in the course of a high morale demonstration, and I expected the arrival of the ‘Tannin’ to Israel and live on it, in order to reinforce the naval fighting force and the IDF “The downfall of Haim is a heavy loss for the members of his unit and for divers, and his friendship, joy and professionalism will be missed.”
