Ta’izi, Shmuel


Son of Hanna and Shalom, was born on January 11, 1925 in Aden. In 1929 he immigrated to Israel with his parents and began studying at the Talmud Torah in Tel Aviv. He excelled in his studies, but after his father’s death he was forced, to leave his studies, and to start working. Shmuel specialized in the mosaic profession. He won the hearts of his friends with sincerity and love. Shmuel participated in the battles for Jerusalem, was transferred to the coastal plain and served in the “Commando Battalion” in the 8th Brigade. Shmuel was killed on the 13th of Tishrei, 5709 (16.10.1948) in Ben Shemen in an accident, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak, leaving behind a wife and daughter.
