Tair (Tyer), Moshe
Born in 1944 in Elhamama, Tunisia, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1954. Moshe attended the Uziel Elementary School in Ramle, and in his free time was engaged in sports and as a hobby – collecting stamps. He was an assistant to his synagogue as much as he could, and he respected his parents with all his might and excelled in kindness, courage, and gentleness, he was good for the poor by secretly giving favors to each person, and after his father’s death he had no choice but to stop his studies. Moshe began to work in his father’s shop and thus supported the family: Moshe was drafted into the IDF in February 1962, and after his discharge from regular service, In reserve as he was called. In the second week of February 1970 he was called up to reserve duty. During his tour of duty he was wounded, and more than two months later, on the 5th of Nissan 5770 (1970), he died of his wounds. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Ramle cemetery. His name was immortalized in the synagogue where he prayed (“Grace and Truth”) in Ramla, by a library and a seven-branched lamp donated to his name.
