Tafta, Sammy

Son of Nuri and Georgia. He was born in the city of Arbil in Iraq in 1944. He was educated in a religious elementary school and later in high school, and was an electrician by profession. He was one of the city’s soccer players, and in February 1962 he was drafted into the IDF. He served for more than two years while still in his regular service, on the 19th of Iyar 5724 (May 1, 1964), fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Tiberias.
