Suliman, Yehuda


Their son was the firstborn of Reuven and Yaffa. He was born in Be’er Sheva in 1952. He studied at the regional school and in the regional high school in Moshav Merkaz Shapira and completed his high school studies in the professional track (mechanics), stuck to religion, prayed and put on tefillin every day. Even when he was in operational employment in the Jordan Valley before embarking on tours, he would first say his prayers. His devotion to the members of his family became known in Moshav Shapira, where he was raised and raised. When he came home for vacation he would reach out to his mother. Unlike other members of his age, he would consult his parents with every problem he faced. When he had finished helping the house, he would find a place for himself and share it with his books or crosswords he loved. He loved army life and wanted to take a parachuting course and officers’ course. When he was granted the rank of corporal, he was Simcha and soon aspired to the rank of sergeant and to continue in the career army. He often gave up his vacation to a friend who needed her more than he did. He would give in to others and compromise with them. This feature left its mark on his personality. All his acquaintances loved him and he became a symbol and example of a model son, exemplary student and exemplary friend. On September 18, 1971, three days after being injured while carrying out his duties, he died of his wounds. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The brigade ordnance officer sent a letter of condolence to his parents, in which he wrote: “The good deeds of your son Yehuda can serve as a consolation to you and to us by serving the homeland in the front territories for a long and difficult period. His personal qualities I saw were modest, courteous and dedicated in carrying out his duties, leaving a void in the hearts of his friends, friends and commanders. “
