Suissa, Yehuda


Yehuda, son of Aliza and Zion Suissa, was born on August 12, 1996 in Moshav Beit Uziel. Yehuda made sure to make everyone Simcha, so that those around him would smile. He went to first grade at the Shalhevet Boys’ religious school in Shalavim. From the 7th to 12th grade, he studied at the Bnei Akiva yeshiva in Lod, which he enjoyed. He studied in the Karnei Shomron hesder yeshiva. On March 21, 2016, he joined the IDF in the framework of the hesder yeshiva. Yehuda was to serve as a combat soldier in the Givati ​​Brigade, and arrived in Ketziot, the brigade’s training base. The day after he was drafted, he collapsed. Resuscitation by the medical staff was unsuccessful and he died on the spot.
Private Yehuda Suissa fell during his duty on the 13th of Adar 5726 (March 22, 2016) at the age of 19. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. He left his parents, two brothers and two sisters. His family and friends published the memorial book “Netivot”, which includes, among other things, letters of farewell from people close to him. In the settlement of Karnei Shomron, where Yehuda studied in the hesder yeshiva, a warm corner was established for the soldiers and it is called “Achi Yehuda”.
