Before leaving for leave, Itamar fell in battle in Nablus during the operation to rescue IDF soldiers from Joseph’s Tomb. Itamar was killed by Palestinian gunfire. Captain Benny Biton, Captain Nir Barzaski, Lieutenant Michael Dadush, Sergeant Uri Ben-Tov and First Sergeant Erez Sharabi were killed. Itamar was buried in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was twenty-one years old when he fell. Survived by parents and three sisters – Naama, Hadar and Ella.
