Stoler-Avrahami, Yekutiel (Kuti)

Son of Esther and Menachem-Mendel, he was born on January 19, 1931 in Jerusalem, studied at the elementary school in Beit Hakerem, and later at the “Amal” vocational school. Kuti was cheerful and alive, and interested the whole family in the soft tropical fish he raised in a small aquarium. Kuti was fond of nature and sports, and at the age of 12 he joined the younger Maccabi and already asked for more serious content for his social life and found him in the Hashomer Hatza’ir movement. At the age of 16, he “increased” his age and volunteered for the Nutras and served in Yagur. He tried to calm his parents, who were very worried about him because of his preoccupation with weapons and militarism, explaining that there was no way of knowing what would happen and that every young man had to train with weapons and prepare for military service. At the end of 1947, he served in the Haganah. He underwent various courses, including sniping, in order to maximize his military ability. Once again he lied about his age, so that they would not remove him from their actions with the adults. He fought in the Carmeli Brigade and participated in operations in the Valley and in the Lower and Western Galilee. He went with the forces of the brigade to Operation Dekel to liberate the central Galilee. On the 9th of Sivan 5708 (16.7.1948) he fell in the battle to conquer Shefa Amr and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
