Two days later, on July 14, 2006, Dovi fell in a battle off the shores of Beirut. In his capacity as an airborne mechanic, he stayed in the naval ship “Hanit”. A missile fired by Hezbollah hit the back of the ship and Dubi was killed on the spot. Three other soldiers fell with him: First Sergeant Tal Emgar, First Sergeant Yaniv Hershkowitz and Sergeant Shai Atias. Dubi was thirty-seven and eight months old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Karmiel cemetery. Survived by Raya, two daughters and a son, parents and sister. After his fall he was promoted to the rank of sergeant M.Advance.
