Stein, Binyamin (Walter)
Binyamin, son of Martha and Karl Stein, was born in 1920 in Hongen near Frankfurt on Main, Germany. His parents sent him to the United States. When World War II broke out, he volunteered for the United States Air Force. Before the outbreak of the War of Independence, he refused to return to America until the storm passed and volunteered for the Israel Air Force. He fell on the 28th of Iyar (June 6, 1948) at the airport in Tel Aviv. He was laid to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak military cemetery.
