Son of Sheindel and Joseph Menachem, was born on the 3rd of Tevet (11.12.1923) in the city of Alba-Yulia, in a populated area in the north-west of Romania. During the Second World War he was taken to concentration and labor camps and suffered greatly because of his abstinence from non-kosher food. After returning home he found his parents among the remains. He joined the Hagana, participated in the defense of Tel Aviv, and later joined the religious platoon. The day before the declaration of the state, he fell on the fall of Kfar Etzion, on the 4th of Iyar, May 13, 1948. His mother, who arrived in Israel, was left to accompany him for burial at the mass funeral of the Etzion Bloc victims who were laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, on the 25th of Cheshvan, November 17, 1949.
