Stefansky, Moshe
Son of Rachel and Shabtai, was born in 1915 in Russia. In 1922 he arrived in Israel at the age of 7. He attended elementary school, received a pioneering education and saw his mission in the National Security Service. For four straight years he was a guard. During the Second World War, he enlisted in the British Army, first in the “Baps” and later in the Second Battalion of the Jewish Brigade. After six years of service in the army, he was discharged and settled with a group of members of the Wingate organization, the Association of Released Soldiers, in Ramot Naftali. Tired of the war and his long service in the army, he recovered his ownership of the land, but his solitude weighed on him. Moshe was not a man of things, and he did not reveal his feelings to others, but he fulfilled his day-to-day work with dedication. Moshe fell in defense of his settlement, victim of a murderers’ ball, during an attack on the herd, on the day of Adar I 5708 (March 2, 1948). He was laid to rest at the Ramot Naftali cemetery.
