Stark, David-Menachem


Son of Pnina and Shmuel Yehuda, was born on 19.8.1925 in Hindenburg, Upper Silesia, Germany. During the War of Independence he served in one of the Palmach battalions in the “Yiftach” Brigade and participated in all his activities and activities to defend and liberate the Galilee. He also carried out the daring operation of explosions and bruises on the Syrian enemy’s rear, And even tried to derive the full benefit from them. From the Galilee he was transferred with his battalion to the bloody gate of the valley. In one of the battles he was wounded and shrapnel remained in his leg, but he refused to go to the hospital and lie there while his friends were sacrificing their lives in the battle. According to him, it will be possible to remove the shrapnel after the earth has settled. He also rejected the General Staff’s proposal to travel to the United States to study aviation, and in the battle for “Danny” he boarded a mine near Tzrifin on 9 Tamuz (16.7.1948), and in his death saved the lives of many of his friends. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
