Stanislawski, Abraham


Avraham (Avi, Steny), son of Dinah and Benik, was born on April 4, 1950 in Poland and in that same year immigrated to Israel with his family. Avraham was drafted into the IDF in early August 1968 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and after basic training, he completed a tank course for the tank commanders, and in a course for tank commanders. Wrote that “he was an exemplary officer and a loyal evil. Every role he took was successful and he always volunteered to help his friends. Even when he was a young officer, he was not afraid to express his opinion freely and openly. He participated in the battles of the War of Attrition and the war against terrorists on the Lebanese border, and during the Yom Kippur War Avi took part in the armored battles to stop the Syrian attacks on the Golan Heights On October 11, 1973, In the battle near the village of Khan-Aranbeh, he was wounded in the face of the attack, but continued to fight, and with great courage, he saved the life of his injured tank driver. For four consecutive days he and his comrades fought relentlessly until they broke through the purple line. Near the village of Khan-Arnabeh, his tank was hit directly and Avi was killed on the spot. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to captain.
