Stahai, Shalom
Son of Yefet and Sarah. He was born in 1933 in Haddad, a village in Yemen, and immigrated to Israel with a group of orphans in 1945. He successfully studied until the tenth grade at the Meir Shfeya School. After graduating from the IDF, he studied at the Kibbutzim College and served as a teacher in the evening classes of Hanoar Haoved, and was a favorite of his students and friends. He was a member of the Workers’ Council in Akir, and upon the outbreak of the Sinai Campaign, called to reserve duty and fell in combat on the 27th of Mershvan 5711 (1/11/1956). He was buried in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Then laid torest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem on th October Tsi”h (10/23/1957). Left a wife and children.
