Son of Efrat and Yehoshua, was born on the 22nd of Tevet 5722 (22.12.1961) in Ramat Gan. Yoav began his studies at the “Aliyot” elementary school. He was 9c years old when he was orphaned from his father and was sent to continue his studies at a boarding school in the Hadasim school in the Sharon. When he completed his elementary studies, Yoav went to study at the Mevo’ot Yam School and completed a track for captains. From childhood, Yoav has excelled in leadership, resourcefulness and decision-making. He was very popular in society, and loved his teachers and friends. Yoav was a quick-witted boy with many hobbies. He loved maritime sport in all its forms: surfing, boating, sailing, water skiing and swimming. Yoav liked to travel a lot and do so throughout the country, especially hiking in the Negev and the Arava. He excelled in the study of geography and nature, and was very involved in the study of snake life. At the beginning of October 1979, Yoav was drafted into the army and volunteered for the paratroopers. At the beginning of June 1982, when the war in Lebanon broke out, Yoav took part in a break in the coastal strip and in a siege of the Golan Heights, where he served as a member of the Israel Defense Forces.
