Spadya, Yaakov (Jack)

Yaakov (Jack), son of Yaffa and Nissim Spadya, was born in 1929 in the city of Aleppo, Syria. He immigrated to Israel in 1933. He studied in an elementary school and later studied tailoring and ironing. During the War of Independence, he fulfilled his duty in the ranks of the Carmeli Brigade and he fell in the battles for the conquest of Haifa, 10 Nissan, April 19, 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
