Souad, Sami

Sami, son of Sarah and Musa Souad, was born in 1979 in the village of Suad Hamira. He joined the Border Police in early December 1999, and was attached to the ATV unit. Sami served in the Border Police base at Gan Ner near Kibbutz Yizre’el. On 7 May 2001, Sami was in his room with his best friend when he was critically injured in one of his lungs by a bullet. He was evacuated to the Haemek Hospital in Afula. Second Sergeant Sami Su’ad fell on duty on 11 May 2001 at the age of twenty-two. He was laid to rest in the Suad Hamira cemetery, only a month after his father died. Sami left his mother, three sisters and six brothers.
