Solomon, Marco
Son of Lupu and Esther. Born on the 22nd of Elul 5705 (22.8.1945) in Romania, he studied in an elementary school in his city and was one of the outstanding students in both studies and sports. He continued his studies in high school and successfully completed them. Marco was a favorite of his friends – Jews and non-Jews – and he was a pleasant fellow. In 1963 he immigrated to Israel with his family and was initially accepted into a Hebrew ulpan in Kibbutz Ginegar and spent about half a year there. Having mastered the language he felt that he was ready to fulfill his duty to his people and to his country like any other citizen. Marco joined the Israel Defense Forces in May 1964. He completed a course for paramedics and completed a course for paramedics during his regular service, and after completing his studies, he completed an X-ray technician’s course and worked for a short period at the Levinstein Hospital in Ra’anana. , In 1968. He began studying electronics, and since his graduation, Marco worked as an electronics technician at IMI. On 31.8.1973, Cpl. Marko fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Herzliya cemetery. He left a wife and two children. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Marco was a model soldier and throughout his service in our unit he fulfilled all the tasks entrusted to him with dedication and efficiency.”
