Sokolow, Hanoch


Son of Mordechai and Chaya. He was born on 15.5.1943 in Orl, Russia, immigrated to Israel in 1948. He completed his elementary studies and then spent his time in the Mediterranean coastal group of Neve Yam, where he belonged to Bnei Akiva, In May 1961 he was drafted into the IDF and after completing his regular service he went to reserve duty and in the Six Day War was also in this framework. On the first day of her battles, he was 26 Iyar 5727 (5.6.1967). He fell in Maoz Zion near Jerusalem, where he was in the excavation prior to the attack and was wounded by a direct hit with the shell. He put down a wife. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. A list published in a booklet published by the Netanya Municipality in memory of the fallen boys.
