Sofer, Kobi (Yaakov)
Son of Adina and Zion. Born in Holon on 25.6.1979, a brother of Irit, Ayala and Jacqueline, Kobi grew up in Holon and completed his basic studies at the Levi Eshkol and Sprinzak schools and graduated He graduated from the Matriculation High School in communications and geography. Kobi, whose nickname in the family was ‘Koboi’, was a sociable and loving boy. For a year he played basketball at Hapoel Holon, but mostly liked to listen to music and spend time with friends who loved him and were always Simcha to stay with him and even gave him the nickname “King of the neighborhood.” In October 1997 he enlisted in the IDF and underwent basic training at the Nitzanim base in Ashkelon, after which he was placed as a gatekeeper at the headquarters of the Rabin unit in the Kirya, and in March 1998 he began to feel ill and was transferred for various tests. And he developed very rapidly and was hospitalized at Ichilov Hospital and was treated by all means in the oncology ward, and for six months Kobi struggled, but the aggressive illness caused a large-scale failure in his body, and on September 26, 1998, Kobi died when he was nineteen. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Holon.
