Smaragon, Amikam (“Ami”)

Amikam (Ami), son of Shmuel and Malka Smaragon, veteran residents of Israel, was born in 1947 in Ramat Gan, and since it was the day after the declaration of the State of Israel in the United Nations, his parents called him after the “Amikam” symbol. He loved music and played the accordion. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1966, but about nine months later, he fell during his duties on the 11th of Kislev (24.11.1966) and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. A scholarship fund was named after him.
