Smanenko, Ruslan

Son of Eugenia Valentin, was born on January 11, 1974, in Vinnitsa, Ukraine. The eldest son of his parents. Ruslan grew up in a family that wanted culture and art, and from a very young age he read many Russian and universal literature and was able to quote many poems by heart. At school he was an outstanding student and he read and expanded extensively on literature, art and science. During vacations, he traveled with his parents in nature and visited the theater and museums. Ruslan was also responsible and generous within the family unit, and after the birth of his younger sister, Inessa, helped his parents grow up and became a loving, good and devoted brother. Throughout his life he maintained close and warm relations with his parents, sister and other family members. At the age of fifteen, he was admitted to the College of Nursing, with the intention of continuing his studies in medicine. He had studied for a year at the college, and out of his curiosity and desire to expand his knowledge, he studied the natural sciences, chemistry and medicine. In addition to his studies, he began preparations for immigration to Israel. Ruslan studied Hebrew on his own and with his thoroughness, and read many books about Israel. When he was sixteen, the family immigrated to Israel, and Roslan began his studies at the Amal High School in Nahariya, first in a new immigrant class, but soon became part of a regular class. Despite his high grades he decided to work and enlist, and to postpone his studies until after his military service. He was drafted into his unit in the air force in May 1992 and was accepted and accepted by his friends, who praise his generosity, modesty and gentleness, as well as his commanders who appreciated his responsibility, his intellectual ability and his extensive knowledge in so many areas. On March 15, 1993, Ruslan fell during his service and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya, leaving behind his parents and a sister.
