Slavin, Lotan

Lotan, son of Iris and Gil Slavin, was born on May 3, 1985 in Moshav Hatzeva, to a family that is one of the cornerstones of the Arava. Even when he was a year old, Lotan had acute inflammation of the pancreas – a disease typical of adult alcoholics. His condition was difficult, he was operated on, and he was treated for a month in the hospital until he recovered. On March 28, 2004, Lotan enlisted in the Armored Corps, completed a tank training course and served as a tank commander. Lotan fell in battle in Lebanon on July 24, 2006, while he was on a rescue mission from the “Orev” unit of the Golani Brigade in the village of Bint Jbeil.
