Ami ben Mendel and Ida, was born on the 8th of Sivan, May 27, 1958, in Kibbutz Eilon. He was an outstanding student with outstanding talents. In early 1976 he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Artillery Corps. On the 1st of Av, August 4th 1978, Ami, then 20 years old, fell while serving, and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on Kibbutz Eilon. Ami left behind his parents and two sisters. In a condolence letter to the bereaved family it was written: ” Ami was a good soldier, quiet, disciplined and professional.
