Sirkin, Tuvia


Tuvia, son of Menucha and Jacob Sirkin, was born on January 14, 1942 in Kibbutz Dafna in the Upper Galilee. In November 1960, he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Golani Brigade, where he took a course for squad commanders and sports instructors and was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and in May 1963 he left his regular service and returned to his farm and farm work. He married his girlfriend, Nili, and the couple had three daughters – Osnat, Orit and Gali – In 1972, Tuvia left the farm with his family and moved to Jerusalem, where he learned a new profession – gems and diamonds. His clients, Arabs and Jews, secular and religious, kept in touch with Kibbutz Dafna and took care of his parents On Tu B’Shvat (13.6.1989) Tuvia fell during his service in reserve duty and was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was forty-seven when he died. He left behind a wife, three daughters, parents and brother – Michael.
