Singer, Moshe (Mickey)
Born in 1921 in Slatinia, Yugoslavia, he survived the Holocaust in 1941. Of the eight surviving children, only two remained alive after the Holocaust: Moshe and his sister Leah, who immigrated to Palestine in 1946 and lived in Haifa. At the outbreak of the War of Independence he joined the 22nd Battalion of the Carmeli Brigade and served in the north of the country. On September 8, 1948, Moshe was killed in a traffic accident on the Rosh Pina-Safed road and brought to eternal rest in the Safed cemetery, where his sister was commemorated in the Torah scroll after the heroes of Israel during the War of Independence on Mount Zion in Jerusalem .
