From childhood, he had been inclined toward real professions. Amir was lively and inquisitive. Before entering seventh grade, his family left for a year of study in the United States. He continued his studies at Oakland, New Jersey, and soon became absorbed in his new surroundings. Amir joined the school and sports, played soccer in a local team and acquired many friends. In the eighth grade, Amir returned to Israel and continued his studies at the “Reali” school in the Carmel Center. In 1979, Amir participated in a training course for operational companies in the Gadna. However, he was more interested in public activity within the school. In the tenth grade, he was elected chairman of the students’ branch of the Carmel Center branch, and since then he has made his mark on the social life of the school Amir has discovered initiatives in the organization of cultural and entertainment performances, , Who was then in a civil war, continued his studies in the 11th and 12th grades, and Amir moved to the “Biram House” of the “Reali” school for mathematics and science, And remained in this position until the middle of the 12th grade, and he devoted himself to his duties with all his might, holding meetings with the school administration, Amir was active in publishing the school bulletin, organized cultural and entertainment events and was the driving force in the campaign for the benefit of the Levi Foundation. As part of the operation, he organized a day of study for students, with the participation of teachers and lecturers from outside. And after his successes, Amir was asked to hold a performance of the schoolchildren in front of the IDF soldiers in a military convalescent home, and Amir loved the country and toured it a lot. In addition to his extensive public activities, he did not neglect his studies and won a prize for the founder of the school Dr. Biram, for his excellence in studies and for his public activities. Amir completed his two-month trip to Europe in October 1982, where he enlisted and began his service as a pilot in the Israel Air Force, and for nine months Amir debated between his service in the IAF and his desire to serve in the infantry, Like his older brother, he volunteered to serve in an elite paratroopers unit, and he took a number of courses: paratroopers, an armored personnel carrier and a squadron commander, and in June 1983 Amir rose to the rank of corporal. He was asked to go to an officer’s course, and while he was still deliberating, he went to Lebanon together with his unit for operational activities in the framework of the Peace for Galilee War. On July 17, 1984, when he was in operational activity in the coastal sector near Tire, Amir was hit by a 107mm artillery bomb fired from an ambush by a terrorist squad. Amir was killed when he was 20 years old. Defense Minister Moshe Arens wrote to his parents: “Amir served in the infantry and was one of the most important fighters in the unit, who carried out his missions in a thorough and perfect manner, was pleasant and acceptable to his comrades and commanders.” The commander of his battalion wrote to his family: “Sergeant Amir, one of the most important fighters of my unit, fell on his guard on the coastal road between Tzur and Sidon.
