Simji, Menashe
Son of Yitzhak and Allegra. He was born on April 25, 1935 in Tirya, Turkey. After graduating from elementary school in his hometown, he immigrated to Eretz Israel as part of Youth Aliyah and later moved to Kibbutz Haogen. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement. He worked as an apprentice to a government ministry. Although he did not reach the age of enlistment, he volunteered for the IDF in October 1952, when he was only 17 years old. He was kind and brave and his virtues were loved by all his friends. He fell in battle around Beit-Guvrin on the 27th of Sivan 5753 (27.5.1953) and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
