Simchi, Yefet Yehuda
Son of Shim’a and Oded. Born in 1920 in Aden, Yemen. Immigrated to Israel in 1932. Here he moved all the absorption and rooting areas in the new country and worked in every job that came alongside him. In 1940 he joined the British army and with the establishment of the Jewish Brigade joined the ranks. Fought against the Germans and was captured. As part of the prisoner exchange he arrived in England, where he lived in Zionist training, where he also knew his choice and married her. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, he enlisted and served in the 7th Brigade. He participated in Operation son of-Nun Bet, the second attack on the Legion compound in Latrun, and was a force that broke into the Latrun police court. The force encountered heavy enemy fire, suffered casualties and was forced to retreat. This battle fell on the 21st of Iyar 5708 (May 30, 1984). On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949), he was brought to rest with his comrades in a grave in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
